Our nation’s capital, the seat of our democracy, is full of incredible architecture and history. Together, we will experience what Washington DC has to offer.
We start at the National Mall where we visit several of the city’s most important monuments and memorials. Take an elevator up to the top of the Washington Monument and get a great view of the city from above. Head over to the tidal basin and visit the powerful Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. We discuss the 3 branches of government when visiting the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, and the White House. Take a trip over to U-Street and learn about the history of “Chocolate City” while stopping by Ben’s Chili Bowl for a half-smoke. Our visit culminates with an exploration of the Smithsonian’s newest and most powerful museum on the National Mall: the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
