On your virtual tour of Italy, students will experience some of (but not limited to) the following cities, sites, and attractions:
“Con te partiro.” Like Andrea Bocelli sang in this beautiful song, we will go with you – virtually – to one of the world’s beautiful countries, Italy. First stop: Venice. Check out the canals of La Serenissima and enjoy a gondola ride. Step into the historic and breathtaking Basilica of San Marco and marvel over its gold mosaics. Next stop: Florence. Walk the streets that look exactly the way they did when Michelangelo walked them, and see his famous sculpture, David, and learn how he came to be. In the city of Pisa, gaze at the leaning tower and find out why it leans! In Rome, walk into the Colosseum and understand why it was built, what kind of spectacles could be viewed there, and who the gladiators were. We end our trip in Vatican City where we head into St. Peter’s Basilica and marvel over the Sistine Chapel.
