New York City Tour

This New York City tour comes alive for your students in this exciting 5-day customized educational trip to the Big Apple, highlighting Cultural Patterns and Processes.  Students will explore Migration and Settlement as they visit numerous museums and sites related to the cultures that make up our nation. They will examine themes such as urban land use and food production as they navigate through the city and experience the impact of industrialization and economic development in contemporary New York City.

 

DAY 1 

  • Arrive in New York City
  • Meet your Tour Director
  • Customized workshop – “The History of New York City”
  • Visit One World Observatory Deck at Freedom Tower

 

DAY 2 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Cruise to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum and see the Statue of Liberty
  • Visit the Tenement Museum
  • Visit the Jewish History Museum
  • Visit the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum

 

DAY 3 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Cultural Patterns and Processes guided tour of New York City’s “Ethnic Enclaves”
  • Tour the United Nations
  • Visit the Museum of the City of New York
  • Free time exploring Rockefeller Plaza and Times Square

 

DAY 4

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Participate in a local school exchange
  • Tour the world-famous Apollo Theater
  • Visit El Museo de Barrio
  • Attend a historical hip-hop culture tour
  • Attend a cultural Broadway Performance

 

DAY 5

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Participate in an ethnic cooking class
  • Visit the American Irish Historical Society
  • Visit the Hispanic Society of America (time permitting)
