Washington D.C., New York, and Boston

Get an insider’s look at the politics, history, and culture of our country on this educational trip! Discover power and politics in Washington D.C., the center of our nation’s government. Visit Capitol Hill, Library of Congress, and Supreme Court as well as the exciting Newseum and engage students in the constitutional process. Next, travel to New York City and immerse yourself in the many cultural patterns and processes the city has to offer. Visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty before spending some time in Chinatown. Then you’ll travel to Boston and get a firsthand look at its many diverse cities and urban land use, including where JFK lived.

 

DAY 1

  • Arrive in Washington D.C.
  • Guided Tour of Washington D.C.:  Monuments, War Memorials, White House (photo stop), Capitol Hill, & Arlington Cemetery
  • Dinner Cruise on the Potomac River

 

DAY 2

  • Breakfast
  • Visit the Supreme Court and Library of Congress
  • Visit the U.S. Capitol Building (meet your State Rep)
  • Lunch
  • Visit the Newseum
  • Visit the Spy Museum
  • Dinner
  • Drive to Philadelphia (for overnight stay only)

 

DAY 3

  • Breakfast
  • Travel to New York City
  • Visit Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty
  • Lunch
  • Visit the Tenement Museum
  • Visit Rockefeller Plaza
  • Sightseeing in Time Square
  • Dinner
  • See a show on Broadway

 

DAY 4

  • Breakfast
  • Travel to Boston, MA
  • Lunch at Faneuil Hall
  • Guided Freedom Trail Tour
  • Visit the Royall House and Slave Quarters
  • Dinner
  • Workshop Seminar: “Cultural Patterns and Processes”

 

DAY 5

  • Breakfast
  • Visit the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum
  • Visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum
  • Lunch
  • Visit Harvard University
  • Return Home
