Black History Experience

Experience an African American history excursion that is sure to satisfy the most astute black history buff. This guided tour will ensure the students visit, see and appreciate all attractions and landmarks that commemorate black culture, history, the Underground Railroad and other achievements in the African American legacy.  This educational tour, which travels from New York, NY to Pittsburgh, PA will provide a rich history as students explore the dynamics of politics and power, and the impact of migration and settlement on African American culture.

  • Visit the African-American Wax Museum of Harlem
  • Visit the Museum of African American History
  • Attend a performance at the Harlem Stage
  • Travel to Philadelphia, PA
  • Dinner

 

Day 3

  • Breakfast
  • Visit Lincoln University
  • Visit the Underground Railroad Museum
  • Travel to Baltimore, MD
  • Guided history tour of Baltimore, MD
  • Dinner

 

Day 4

  • Visit the National Great Blacks In Wax Museum
  • Visit the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture
  • Travel to Blairsville, PA

Day 5

  • Travel to Pittsburgh, PA
  • Visit the August Wilson Center for African-American Culture
  • Visit the LeMoyne House (first National Historic Landmark of the Underground Railroad)
  • Return home
