U.S. History and Government

Washington D.C., the center of U.S. history and government, comes alive for your students in this 5-day customized educational trip to our nation’s capital. Students will explore numerous museums and sites related to themes in American history, such as National Identity and Politics and Power. Your students will experience, first-hand, American history and the foundation of our Culture and Society in an up-close and personal way that they will never forget.


DAY 1 

  • Arrive in Washington, D.C.
  • Meet your Tour Director
  • Visit the Newseum
  • Guided tour of Washington, D.C.: The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, the Dr. MLK Memorial, White House photo stop, World War II memorial, FDR Memorial, and more!
  • Dinner
  • Check-in to hotel


DAY 2 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Participate in customized “American and National Identity” workshop
  • Visit the National Museum of American History
  • Visit the National Museum of African History and Culture
  • Take a dinner cruise on the Potomac River


DAY 3 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit the National Archives Museum
  • Visit Ford’s Theater Museum and Peterson House
  • Visit Arlington National Cemetary
  • Visit International Spy Museum with student scavenger hunt



  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Attend customized “Politics and Power” workshop
  • Tour the United States Capitol
  • Visit the United States Supreme Court building
  • Visit the Library of Congress building
  • Attend the “Capitol Steps” Mock Democracy Performance



  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit the DEA Museum
  • Tour the Pentagon
  • Visit the United States Postal Museum (time permitting)
  • Return Home
